Also, on packages, write “Dumnezeu te vede” on the side, it means “God sees;” making it less likely to have customs look through all of your stuff.
On letters $ with a slash over it – so they know there is no money inside.

  1. Hey Cat! So excited to see that you have a blog! I loved hearing about your first experiences. I cannot blame you for crying.... what else is a girl to do when you are completely overwhelmed and exhausted! Glad your host family seems so accommodating. Your room is beautiful and the people sound like they are too! Sending hugs and love. all will be well. Love, Claire

  4. Katie, I love your blog! It lingers in the air like the aroma of honeysuckles on a farm in the 1920's. The Peace Corps seems to have given you the opportunity to experience what life is truly meant to be in the skein of things (I read a lot of Edgar Cayce:). If you don't know already, this is your former favorite teacher Dr. Watson (it was Mr. Watson back in the day but we all grow if we are lucky). I saw your Mom at the store and we talked about you so much that the people in line with me started to complain loudly about our conversation but I had to know all about your experiences... I am so proud of you, you really have given me what every teacher or administrator entering Education desires---- to see children succeed and make the world a place that people want to live in.

Peace be unto you and always continue to be the "Hammer" that you are!

Dr. Watson, your 6th Grade teacher
